What does my admission fee cover?

Festival admission enables a guest to attend all general lectures and classes all day. Lectures vary each day and cover topics like fishing for trophy bass fishing on the Devil’s River, fly fishing Alaska, saltwater fly fishing destinations, special casting techniques, top bass flies, and other specialty classes. Attendees may also watch fly tyers at their vises, and free walk-up fly-tying lessons will be offered throughout the day.

For patrons 21 years and older, festival admission also covers a limited number of microbrewed beer tastings as well as bourbon tastings. Beer by the glass and a limited amount of mixed drinks will be available for purchase.

Children 16 years and younger are admitted free with a paying and supervising adult.

I am brand new to fly fishing. Is this festival for me?

Absolutely! The TFFF is the perfect high-interest, low-pressure place to learn everything there is to know about the quiet sport. Our vendors are eager to meet you and share their passion for fly angling with you. Start here, and spend the rest of your life enjoying the outdoors through fishing. We offer women-only classes as well as classes for the entire family to learn to cast or tie flies together.

Do I need to bring gear?

No equipment of any kind is required to attend the festival.

I’m an experienced fly angler. Will the festival hold anything new for me?

Some of the most respected names in the sport will be on hand to broaden even the widest of perspectives on advanced casting and fly-tying techniques, angling from a kayak, and much more. Advanced fly casting and fly-tying classes will be offered throughout the weekend. While most lectures are free, a variety of specialty classes with a limited amount of paid attendance will be offered. No matter your skills, we can take you to the next level.

Should I bring my kids?

Yes. Children of all ages are welcome! In fact we are so eager to introduce children to fly fishing that we charge no admission fee to those 16 years and younger (with a paying and supervising adult). Be sure to read all about our 3FC series of family fly fishing classes.

What if I have more than one child?

Parents may bring as many children as they like! We do require that parents be aware of their children’s location at all times. This is a family-friendly event, and we look forward to welcoming your kids to the sport and the festival.

I don’t drink beer. Can I get a reduced admission fee?

We charge only one price per attendee. Those who do not wish to participate in the tastings may simply give their tasting tickets to someone else in their party who is 21 years or older.
